About
Breathing Space are a London based five piece collective. Their practice fuses voice and experimental instrumentation with techniques of improvisation, deep listening, assemblage and field recordings.. They create site specific performances exploring architectural acoustics, uncovering the social and physical resonances to shape content and form. Working outside the traditional performance space they re-imagine place, adding new memory to sites, often encountering unsuspecting audiences.

Founding member Stephen Shiell originally put our voices together for LUGUS..

Breathing Space is Lou Barnell, Melaina Barnes, Stephen Shiell, Hannah White and Phoebe Wright-Spinks.
